Instincts and Thinking. We act based on these 2 facts. In terms of speed, instincts win. In terms of risk-management, thinking wins. Basically when you act based on your impulse, you are using your instincts which is mainly rooted from your experience and perhaps natural reflex like how a spider will automatically dodge upon sensing something falling, or perhaps how a bird will automatically fly upon being shocked from an instant. That is our 6th senses.
However for thinking, we have to see it first before we can predict the outcome. This requires time! We have to know when to use which to solve our problems. The key once again is knowing when to use which. With thinking, we use all of our 5 senses. This is why when playing 'fast paced' games such as 'fighting' or 'real-time' games, a 12 years old might beat you even though you're older by 12+ more years because they purely use instincts while you use thinking. From that alone, one thing that's sure is that the more you use the 5 senses, the more 'depleting' your 6th senses will become.
