Protons by itself behaves strangely and far from the common spherical system where the electrons spins around it. However, during collision with other protons, they form an atom and when multiple of atom merge together, they became molecules; a stable form which is far more stable then what it was.

It goes the same with humanity. In a crowd and in a system full of people, we learn to adapt, understand one another and ultimately we become one. But alone, we suffer and we crave attention. Perhaps protons too are subjected to the law of attraction just like a single human being.....
